EMBL Announced Teams and Format
As part of its inaugural season under the new name, the Eastern Michigan Baseball League (EMBL) has unveiled its full lineup of 12 teams along with a comprehensive 32-game regular season schedule. The league will officially kick off on May 31st and run through September 28th, offering fans a full summer of competitive baseball action.
The 12 teams set to compete in the EMBL’s debut season include: St. Clair Shores, Macomb, Troy, Oakland, Monroe, Downriver, Redford, Metro, Livonia, Wayne, Ann Arbor, and Livingston. Each team will play 16 home and 16 away games, with the regular season structured for two games per week, allowing consistent gameplay while also leaving room for rest, recovery, and regional events. Breaks will be scheduled around key holidays like Independence Day and Labor Day, giving players and fans alike time to enjoy the summer calendar.
“With a two-game-per-week format, we’re striking a balance between high-level competition and community accessibility,” said the EMBL Commissioner. “This schedule provides rhythm and excitement while leaving space for special events, family time, and holiday observances. We’re looking forward to seeing our teams build rivalries and our communities rally behind their hometown clubs.”
The EMBL is also planning a season-ending playoff series, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks. As anticipation builds, league officials are confident that this carefully structured season will set the foundation for long-term growth and a loyal fan base across Eastern Michigan.
